last shot from London

Dear friends —

This blog is coming to a close in just a few days, when I turn 30 Wednesday. I realize I haven’t been a very good blogger these last few months — chalk it up to a really busy spring semester — but I am sad to be closing out this project. This is the last shot you’ll see from London, as I’m in Croatia for the week with my friend Prisca.

In a way, I’m sure it looks like a fairly banal picture. But actually, it’s a perfect representation of what I love about this city — such a simple neighbourhood church, reminiscent of everything I’ve ever read about in Austen novels, but also beautiful in its own, slightly shabby right. Forgive me for sounding pretentious, but this is the kind of simple scene of London I would choose any day over the tourist attractions most people recognize best.

Cheers,

Trish.
